CD/DVD browser and reader.
CD/DVD browser and reader is the heart of CDRoller. It utilizes a proprietary driver under Windows 9x/ME or Windows NT low-level API to access the hardware bypassing the Windows File System.

Due to direct access to the hardware, CDRoller increases disc reading reliability in two ways:
First, while reading the damaged areas, the program applies some low-level methods and algorithms depending on CD/DVD drive type that may result in success. For example, the reader forces CD/DVD drive to reduce the rotation speed when it retries to read data after read error has occured for the first time. Second, if an error has occured in reading the system area, CDRoller forces extended data located on it for error recovering.
Obviously, there is no 100% guarantee to read all extremely damaged data, but if your disc is read with errors or is simply rejected by Windows standard tools - try CDRoller on it!
But it is only a piece of iceberg! CDRoller also provides a search of the lost data tracks when a new disk is inserted in order to find, recover and save the folders and files that considered to be lost before. This is an extremely useful option if your CD/DVD mastering program has closed the current session or entire disc with error.
While copying the folder that contains large amount of files, CDRoller provides speed optimization and often accelerates the process of files copying in several times. Our test results in more than 2.5x speed increasing as compared with Windows File Manager while copying the folder that contains 318 sub-folders and 25 368 files with total size of 110 MBytes.
Finally, CDRoller is not only powerful and resourceful toolset, but it's fully transparent and easy to use one! You are not required to set up any additional options, you should only use CDRoller shell as default File Manager and our application will take care of itself!
